In that time and place Kathryn and Chakotay had everything they needed in each other and were completely fulfilled. The physicality could come later when they had the space for it in their lives.
I have high hopes that the Prodigy writers finally understand the nuances of their relationship and do it right. It’s time it was acknowledged that honestly, they were canon all along.

One Year Later

One year ago today, an insurrection happened in my country’s capital. I wasn’t surprised that it happened, but that didn’t make the day any less frightening. I feel like so much has changed now, and yet so much has stayed the same. Even today, it’s a lot to process. I have a feeling I will be processing it today. I’m someone who feels things deeply. I analyze and talk through my feelings after tragedies. Right now, I’d rather process them through fiction.
I’ve been thinking about Trek characters and how they process “one year later” anniversaries. How did the NX-01 crew process the anniversary of the Xindi attack? How did the Voyager crew, especially Janeway and Chakotay, process the anniversary of the crew being marooned on Hanon IV? How did the Enterprise crew process the anniversary of the battle of Wolf 359? How did the DS9 crew process the anniversary of the Jem’Hadar destroying the Odyssey? Etc.
I imagine not that differently than how we process days like the D.C. Insurrection.
It’s an interesting thing to ponder.
